Job summary

Security America, Inc. in Charleston, WV is seeking part-time security officers to patrol, monitor, and secure our client properties. You will report suspicious activity, contact emergency services when needed, and ensure doors and gates remain secure after hours.

Applicants must be at least 18, possess a high school diploma or GED, and be prepared for flexible schedules. Complete background checks and drug screening are standard for employment consideration.

Qualifications

• Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
• Written and verbal communication skills required.
• Ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations.
• Ability to learn the layout of the property and buildings.
• Proficient in using phones or hand-held radios.

Responsibilities

• Patrols and monitors an assigned area; report suspicious activities and document all suspicious activity.
• Contacts law enforcement or fire department in case of an emergency.
• After business hours, checks doors, windows, and gates to ensure the property is secure.
• Investigates reports of suspicious activity on the property.
• Escorts discharged staff, trespassers, and other unwelcome parties off the premises.
