Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer – Flex Front Desk in Playa Vista, CA. You will be the welcoming first contact, overseeing access control, badge checks, and guest inquiries at a hotel/resort site. The role emphasizes service, security procedures, and collaboration across shifts.

Position type is Flex, with pay at $20.20 per hour. Daytime schedule Thursdays 3:00 PM–11:00 PM. Ideal for candidates with security-friendly backgrounds and a commitment to safety and guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of security-related experience.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control/badge experience is preferred.
• Guard card and/or license is preferred.
• Must be at least 18 (unarmed) or 21 (armed).
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background investigation will be conducted as per laws.
• Drug screen may be required where permitted by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to guests and staff while performing security procedures.
• Operate the front desk, greet visitors, verify IDs, and issue visitor credentials.
• Respond calmly to incidents and notify management or emergency services as needed.
• Monitor lobby, entry points, and cameras to deter unwanted activity and report concerns.
• Complete logs and reports, and communicate key information during shift handoff.

What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to guests and staff while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a hotel and resort location.
• Operate the front desk post by greeting and directing visitors, verifying identification and/or access authorization, and issuing visitor credentials per site procedures.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying management and/or emergency services as needed.
• Monitor lobby activity, entry points, and camera systems to help to deter unwanted activity, and report suspicious behavior per site policy.
• Complete required logs and reports, document incidents accurately, and communicate key information during shift handoff to Allied Universal supervision and site representatives.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
• A guard card and/or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
