Scheduling Expectations

• You will be trained at various posts and/or facilities based on operational need. While you may work at a specific post or location for several weeks due to need, this will not be a permanent assignment.
• Your schedule (shifts, days off, hours per week, etc.) will vary based on operational need.
• You will be assigned to, or offered the opportunity to accept, shifts as they become available due to staffing needs.
• Some shifts will be scheduled in advance and posted; others may require short notice coverage.
• You are expected to work any scheduled shift within your availability. If unavailable, communicate this with your supervisor.

Position Details

The Flex Officer position is vital for operational success, providing support during open shifts caused by illness, weather, vacation, etc., ensuring continuous service and staff wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

• Patrol premises to maintain order and security presence
• Monitor surveillance and alarm systems
• Control access to buildings and restricted areas
• Report suspicious activities or hazards
• Respond to alarms and emergencies per procedures
• Complete incident reports accurately and promptly
• Provide excellent customer service while enforcing rules

Requirements

• Valid NJ SORA security guard license
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional training a plus
• At least 1 year of security experience
• Strong observation and communication skills
• Ability to remain calm and make quick decisions under pressure
• Basic computer skills and report writing ability
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening
• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods, indoors/outdoors

Preferred Qualifications

• CPR/First Aid certification
• Experience with trucking/logistics security
• Military or law enforcement background

The Security Officer will perform duties as specified by Post Orders and SOPs, acting swiftly and efficiently according to directives.
