Job summary

Allied Universal, a leader in security and facility services, is seeking a Security Officer Flex Rapid Deployment in Washington, DC. The role offers 30–40 hours weekly with a variable schedule through a self-scheduling program. You will work irregular shifts with limited notice to support client needs.

Pay rate is $25.19 per hour. This position involves patrols, incident reporting, and customer assistance across diverse sites.

Qualifications

• Two years of security-related experience required.
• Available to work varying shifts, including holidays, nights, and weekends.
• Have reliable transportation.
• Be available for last-minute shift scheduling.
• Be willing to travel required distances.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigation required by law.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applicants with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicle.
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
• Sound alarms or call police or fire department in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons.
• Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles.
• Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances and exits.
• Observe departing personnel to protect against theft and ensure authorized removal of property according to client requirements.
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities; maintain logs as required.
• Aid customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
• Make emergency notifications as necessary per site Post Orders.

The Security Professional Branch Flex Officer will serve and safeguard clients across a wide range of industries, including healthcare, education, finance, retail, and more. Basic Qualifications

• Possess at least two years of security‑related experience.

• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
