Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part Time Security Officer Patrol Associate in South Bend, IN to provide courteous security and access control at a healthcare location. You will perform scheduled and random patrols, monitor entrances, assist visitors, and report incidents while delivering excellent customer service.

Qualified applicants will have a high school diploma or equivalent, be 18+ (21+ for armed positions), and pass background checks and drug screens.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply by state/local laws.
• A valid driver's license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to staff, visitors, patients, and vendors following site procedures.
• Respond to incidents calmly and report observations per post orders.
• Conduct regular and random patrols to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor entrances/exits and assist with visitor direction.
• Support emergency responses and maintain orderly operations during urgent situations.

Position Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $19.08 / Hour

Job Schedule: Saturday 08:00 AM – 08:00 PM, Sunday 08:00 AM – 08:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to staff, visitors, patients, and/or vendors by following site‑specific procedures and supporting access control activities at a healthcare location.
• Respond to incidents, unusual activity, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, and report observations according to post orders and Allied Universal guidelines.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security‑related concerns.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and common areas, assist with visitor direction, and document daily activities, incidents, and/or maintenance‑related issues as appropriate.
• Support emergency response activities when appropriate, including communicating with site contacts, following established protocols, and helping to maintain orderly operations during urgent situations.

Minimum Requirements:

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
