Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer in Minneapolis, MN to safeguard campus clients and provide exceptional customer service to students, staff, and visitors. You will patrol, monitor access points, respond to incidents, and document activities, supporting a welcoming and secure campus environment.

The role requires at least 1 year of security experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and a background check.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus partners by carrying out security-related procedures and site policies.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations calmly, following campus protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of campus buildings, residence halls, parking areas, walkways, and perimeter locations.
• Monitor access points and maintain awareness of visitor activity and entry procedures.
• Prepare accurate reports and documentation of incidents and patrol activities.

Pay Rate: $21.50 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Mon 06:30 AM - 02:30 PM
• Tue 06:30 AM - 02:30 PM
• Wed 06:30 AM - 02:30 PM
• Thur 06:30 AM - 02:30 PM
• Fri 06:30 AM - 02:30 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus partners by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established campus protocols and communicating with appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of campus buildings, academic areas, residence halls, parking areas, walkways, and perimeter locations to help identify and report unusual activity or conditions.
• Monitor access points and help maintain awareness of authorized entry procedures, visitor activity, and campus events.
• Prepare accurate reports and documentation of incidents, observations, and patrol activities in accordance with site-specific requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least one year of security-related experience is required.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
