Security Officer, First Shift

Apply locations Main Campus time type Full time posted on Posted 30+ Days Ago job requisition id JR100351 Employees in this class are under general supervision; performs investigations of crimes and accidents, protects property, facilities and citizens by law enforcement; provides escort service; performs related and occasionally other duties as assigned.

Daily Operations

• Investigates suspected crimes, reports findings, and arrests suspected individuals
• Directs and controls traffic, monitors parking operation, and issues parking tickets; investigates accidents
• Patrols the campus, business office, classrooms, recreational facilities, dormitories, hospital, facility, etc. by foot or motor vehicle while armed with handgun.
• Performs related and occasionally other duties as assigned.

Required Skills

• Ability to attain an Armed Security License
• Ability to qualify with a Glock 40 cal handgun
• Ability to react quickly and calmly in emergency situations and to determine proper course of action
• Knowledge of campus policies, City, and State laws
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
• Knowledge of geographic area of the campus
• Ability to ascertain facts by personal contact, observations, and to determine proper course of action
