Job description

Work Schedule:

This is a full-time, 40 hours per week position. Multiple shifts are available: Day (7AM - 3PM), Evening (3PM - 11PM), or Night (11PM - 7AM). Rotating days off, weekends, and holidays are required. Schedules are planned 6 months in advance. Hours may vary based on departmental needs.

Pay:

  • Additional $3.00/hr for evening hours (after 3:00 pm)
  • Additional $4.00/hr for night hours (after 11:00 pm)
  • Additional $3.25/hr on weekends (Saturday and Sunday)

Help ensure the safety of patients, visitors, and staff at Wisconsin's #1 hospital.

We seek a Security Officer with or without experience to:

  • Patrol hospital grounds, assist visitors, and respond to emergencies and disturbances.
  • Engage with law enforcement, patients, visitors, and staff regarding security concerns.
  • Document activities and write detailed incident reports using computer software.
  • Monitor access control, security cameras, intercoms, radios, phones, and alarm systems.

Education:

Minimum: High School Diploma or equivalent.

Preferred: Associate Degree or coursework in criminal justice, or a Bachelor’s Degree in any field.

Work Experience:

Minimum: 1 year of relevant experience or appropriate education.

Preferred: Experience in healthcare security, corporate security, or law enforcement.

Licenses and Certifications:

Minimum: Valid Driver’s License and completion of IAHSS Basic Certification within six months of hire (employer paid).

  • Must be insurable by hospital’s risk management insurer, which requires: (1) a valid Wisconsin Driver’s License, (2) passing a driving background check, (3) being at least 21 years old.
