Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking an experienced Security Officer for an unarmed patrol role at a retail location in Saint Paul, MN. You will provide welcoming customer service, monitor and patrol assigned areas, and respond to incidents per site procedures.

Responsibilities include observing and reporting unusual activity, maintaining clear communications, and documenting incidents. A background check and drug screen are required as per law, with 18+ eligibility for unarmed positions.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of law enforcement experience or 3 years security-related experience, or 2 years in security supervision/management.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Must be at least 18 for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background check and drug screening as required by law.

Position Type: Full Time

Pay Rate: $28.79 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Wed: 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM
• Thur: 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM
• Fri: 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM
• Sat: 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, customers, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the retail store, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and observe customer and employee activity for unusual behavior, reporting observations and incidents to appropriate personnel.
• Assist with documenting incidents, completing required reports, and communicating with store management and/or law enforcement as directed.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 1 year of law enforcement experience, 2 years of security-related supervisor or manager experience, or 3 years of security-related experience.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
