Job summary

Allied Universal, North America’s leading security and facility services company, is seeking a Security Officer (Full Time Unarmed) for Newport News, VA.

You will patrol, monitor access, respond to incidents, and report findings while delivering professional customer service. A high school diploma and at least 1 year of security experience are required; a background check and drug screen will apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures and site policies, including emergency response where appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly and notify site contacts or emergency services as directed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of manufacturing areas, workspaces, parking areas, access points, and the perimeter to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor location access by verifying credentials, observing visitor/contractor activity, and following entry/exit procedures.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports of incidents, patrols, and security-related activities per site requirements.

As a Security Officer Full Time Unarmed Site Patrol in Newport News, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol a manufacturing and industrial location, maintaining a visible presence that helps deter security-related incidents. You will conduct routine patrols, support access control activities, communicate professionally with employees and visitors, and report security-related concerns. Pay Rate: $16.80 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Mon 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM
• Tue 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM
• Wed 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM
• Sat 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM
• Sun 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate site contacts and/or emergency services as directed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of manufacturing areas, fabrication workspaces, parking areas, access points, and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access to the location by verifying credentials, observing visitor and contractor activity, and following established entry and exit procedures.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports of incidents, patrols, unusual conditions, and security-related activities while following site requirements for protective equipment.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
