Allied Universal is hiring a Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced in Harrisonburg, VA. This flexible role offers reliable, fixed shifts with the option to pick up additional shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings while gaining experience across sites.

The position pays $18.00 per hour with potential to scale hours up toward a full-time schedule. Applicants should be at least 18, have a high school diploma or equivalent, and be able to pass a background check

Qualifications

• At least one year of security-related experience.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• A background check and drug screen are required by Allied Universal.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service to visitors, employees, and the public at a government office front desk, following site-specific procedures and access protocols.
• Greet visitors, verify identification and appointment information as applicable, issue visitor credentials, and maintain accurate visitor logs.
• Monitor entry activity and building access points, helping to deter unauthorized access and report unusual activity to appropriate personnel.
• Answer incoming calls, provide general directions and information, and assist with routing visitors to the appropriate office or department.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and emergency situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established emergency response procedures and notifying appropriate contacts.

As a Security Officer Front Desk Enhanced Part Time in Harrisonburg, VA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $18.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Fri 08:00 AM - 05:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ( “Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least one year of security-related experience is required.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
