Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking an entry-level Security Officer for overnight, part-time shifts in Wheeling, IL. You will safeguard residents and staff, respond to incidents, and perform patrols to deter threats in a healthcare setting.

The role emphasizes customer service, professional communication, and adherence to site procedures. A background check and drug screening are required, with licensing as applicable by law.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, resident concerns, medical emergencies, and other critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner while following established protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the rehabilitation facility, grounds, entrances, exits, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, report unusual conditions, and maintain accurate activity, incident, and shift documentation.
• Communicate professionally with facility personnel and emergency responders, escalating security-related concerns according to site procedures.

• Mon: 10:00 PM - 07:00 AM
• Tue: 10:00 PM - 07:00 AM
• Sun: 10:00 PM - 07:00 AM
