Qualifications

• Unarmed roles require at least 18 years old; armed roles 21+.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service to employees, visitors, and vendors at a healthcare-related facility.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior/exterior areas to deter security incidents.
• Monitor access points and verify visitor/contractor authorization; report irregularities.
• Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, medical emergencies, and critical situations per protocols.
• Document patrols and incidents and communicate updates to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.

Job Description

As a Security Officer Patrol Customer Assistance in Richmond, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer in a healthcare setting, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, respond to alarms, and support a welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff. You will provide exceptional customer service and clear communication while contributing to Allied Universal’s agile, reliable, innovative, and people-first culture through teamwork and integrity.

What You’ll Do

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and vendors at a healthcare-related facility by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points, verify visitor and contractor authorization in accordance with site procedures, and report irregularities to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, medical-related emergencies, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established response protocols.
• Document patrols, incidents, observations, and shift activities accurately and communicate relevant information to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision.

Minimum Requirements

• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortable use of a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
