Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer Enhanced in Chicago, IL. The role focuses on front desk customer service, access control, and visitor management, with the flexibility to pick up additional shifts and work across sites.

You will work a fixed daytime shift with opportunities to increase earnings through the Earn More program, while maintaining a reliable base schedule and a commitment to safety and professional conduct.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigation will be conducted.
• Background histories considered in line with laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required.
• Valid driver’s license for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel at the front desk with a professional, welcoming presence.
• Monitor access to building lobby and visitor entry points, verify credentials, issue visitor passes, and maintain logs.
• Answer phones, direct inquiries, and communicate routine information to building personnel and tenants.
• Respond to incidents and alarms calmly, following emergency procedures and notifying appropriate personnel.
• Monitor security systems and report unusual activity or maintenance concerns.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Visitor Identification in Chicago, IL, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $24.25 / Hour

How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, contractors, and/or delivery personnel by following site‑specific procedures and providing a professional, welcoming presence at the front desk.
• Monitor access to the building lobby and visitor entry points, verify credentials as required, issue visitor passes, and maintain accurate visitor logs.
• Answer phones, receive and direct inquiries, and communicate routine information to building personnel, tenants, and appropriate contacts.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following established emergency response procedures and notifying appropriate personnel.
• Monitor security‑related systems and report unusual activity, maintenance concerns, or policy violations to site leadership and/or Allied Universal management.

Minimum Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
