Job summary

Allied Universal in Jacksonville, FL is hiring a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Unarmed Patrol. You will hold a fixed shift at a designated site and may pick up extra shifts via our scheduling platform. Pay rate is $19.00 per hour with a schedule including Fridays 11:45 AM to 09:00 PM.

This role offers part-time hours with earnings stability and opportunities to build toward a full-time schedule up to 40 hours per week, plus access to our Smart Tools and career growth programs.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the healthcare location, including building interiors, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter areas.
• Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, and other critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established site protocols.
• Help to deter unauthorized access and suspicious activity by monitoring access points, observing the environment, and reporting concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Maintain clear, accurate activity and incident reports while supporting a respectful and professional healthcare environment.

Job Schedule:

Fri 11:45 AM - 09:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.
