Allied Universal in Burlington, NJ is seeking a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Unarmed Patrol Coordination to support our retail site with reliable, scheduling flexibility and hands-on security experience.

The position offers fixed, anchor shifts on Fri and Sat nights with opportunities to pick up additional shifts through the Earn More, Claim-A-Shift program, and the potential to grow into full-time roles with ongoing training.

Qualifications

• CPR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Unarmed Patrol Coordination in BURLINGTON, NJ, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $17.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Fri 11:00 PM - 07:00 AM
• Sat 11:00 PM - 07:00 AM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to shoppers, store associates, and visitors by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, escalating concerns according to site‑specific procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail sales floor, entrances, exits, stock areas, parking areas, and perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor for suspicious activity, potential loss‑prevention concerns, and hazards, and report observations to appropriate store leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision.
• Assist with access control, visitor interactions, and the documentation of incidents, observations, and security‑related activities in accordance with site procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least two years of security‑related experience.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
