Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Unarmed for Chicago, IL. The role offers fixed anchor shifts with the option to pick up extra shifts through our scheduling platform to boost earnings.

The position pays $19.50 per hour and includes a defined Sun shift from 06:00 AM to 02:00 PM. Responsibilities include campus safety, customer service to students and staff, conducting patrols, reporting, and maintaining access control.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check required by law.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing may be required by state/local laws.
• Valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus partners while following security procedures and emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus facilities, grounds, parking areas, and perimeters.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, access concerns, and critical situations calmly and according to protocol.
• Monitor access points and assist with visitor directions and campus events.
• Prepare accurate reports and communicate with Allied Universal leadership and responding personnel.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Unarmed Facility Patrol in Chicago, IL, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $19.50 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Sun - 06:00 AM - 02:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It's all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus partners while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and maintenance concerns.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established protocols and notifying appropriate personnel.
• Monitor access points and assist with visitor directions, building access procedures, and campus event activities as assigned.
• Prepare accurate reports and maintain clear communication with Allied Universal leadership, campus contacts, and responding emergency personnel.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
