Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Enhanced – Part Time to support a Saint Louis, MO site. This role offers fixed anchor shifts with opportunities to pick up additional shifts to increase earnings while maintaining a reliable schedule.

The ideal candidate has security experience, familiarity with access control and badge systems, and a customer-service mindset. A high school diploma or equivalent and background screening are required.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of security-related experience.
• Experience with access control and badge systems is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Experience with alarm panels is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check will be conducted as required by law.
• Drug screen may be required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus guests by carrying out security-related procedures and emergency response activities.
• Staff a front desk post, greet and direct visitors, manage access according to site procedures.
• Monitor security-related systems, alarms, cameras, and communications equipment and report issues.
• Respond to incidents and requests for assistance in a calm, professional manner.
• Maintain accurate visitor, access, and incident documentation.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Reception Desk in Saint Louis, MO, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $18.04 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Thur: 11:15 AM - 06:15 PM
• Fri: 06:30 AM - 06:15 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It's all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus guests by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
• Staff a front desk post, greet and direct visitors, manage access according to site procedures, and maintain awareness of activity in the assigned area.
• Monitor security-related systems, alarms, cameras, and communications equipment as assigned, and report unusual activity or maintenance concerns to the appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, requests for assistance, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner.
• Maintain accurate visitor, access, and incident documentation in accordance with campus and Allied Universal procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least 2 years of security-related experience.
• Experience with access control and badge systems is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Experience with alarm panels is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
