Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Personnel Screener in Washington, DC. The role offers fixed anchor shifts with optional added shifts through a scheduling platform to increase earnings, and is designed for flexible, dependable part-time work.

Pay rate is $22.66 per hour. The schedule includes Mon 10:30 AM - 07:45 PM and Sun 11:00 AM - 06:15 PM, with a six-month anchor commitment and potential for up to 40 hours weekly.

Qualifications

• Two years of security-related experience.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigations will be conducted as required by law.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, shoppers, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site policies.
• Screen employees, contractors, vendors, deliveries, and visitors entering designated areas.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and screening points; verify credentials and report access concerns.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations calmly, following escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas to deter unauthorized activity and identify concerns.

Job Schedule:

• Mon 10:30 AM - 07:45 PM
• Sun 11:00 AM - 06:15 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to clients, shoppers, and visitors by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Screen employees, contractors, vendors, deliveries, and visitors entering designated areas in accordance with site‑specific access procedures.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and screening points; verify credentials and report access concerns or unusual activity to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following established notification and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned retail areas and the surrounding perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security‑related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least two years of security‑related experience.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
