Qualifications

• Access control and badge experience preferred.

• X-ray screening experience preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check and drug screening as required by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and drivers while following security procedures and site policies.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of warehouses, loading docks, parking areas, and perimeters to identify unusual activity.
• Monitor access points and verify authorized entry for employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional manner and document actions taken.
• Complete required reports and maintain communication with site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Patrol in NEWARK, CA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $23.60 / Hour

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It's all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and drivers by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of warehouse areas, loading docks, parking areas, trailer yards, and the surrounding perimeter to help identify and report unusual activity or conditions.
• Monitor access points and verify authorized entry for employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, and document observations and actions taken.
• Complete required reports, maintain clear communication with site contacts and Allied Universal leadership, and support a professional environment at the distribution location.

Minimum Requirements:

• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Possession of a state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• X-ray screening experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
