As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Customer Service Patrol in Lexington, KY, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by pick-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $19.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

DayTimeTue05:00 PM - 09:00 PMThur05:00 PM - 09:00 PMSun08:00 AM - 06:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It's all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus partners while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of campus buildings, academic areas, residence halls, parking areas, walkways, and perimeter locations to help identify and report unusual conditions or policy concerns.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, medical emergencies, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established procedures and coordinating with appropriate campus resources and/or emergency responders.
• Monitor access points and observe campus activity, documenting incidents, maintenance concerns, and other security-related observations in accordance with site requirements.
• Help maintain a welcoming campus environment by providing directions, assisting with routine inquiries, and communicating professionally with the campus community.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least one year of security-related experience.
• Be able to lift more than 20 pounds, preferred.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
• Have customer service experience, preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
