Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced in Sterling, VA. This role offers reliable hours at a fixed site with the option to pick up additional shifts through our scheduling platform.

You will protect employees and visitors, perform access control, respond to incidents, and help maintain a safe, secure environment. Pay is $19.29 per hour, with a six-month anchor commitment and opportunities to grow within the industry leader.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation in line with federal, state, and local laws.
• Drug screen administered where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply depending on state/local regulations.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors at a technology infrastructure location.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials, issue and collect badges, and maintain records.
• Control entry/exit of personnel, vehicles, deliveries, and contractors at restricted areas.
• Respond to access control alarms, incidents, and critical situations with calm problem-solving.
• Conduct regular patrols of access points, business areas, and the perimeter; report concerns.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Credential Enrollment in Sterling, VA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $19.29 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Tue 12:00 AM - 08:00 AM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors at a technology infrastructure location by carrying out site‑specific access control procedures, policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials and visitor authorization, issue and collect access badges, and maintain accurate access‑related records in accordance with site procedures.
• Control entry and exit of personnel, vehicles, deliveries, and contractors, helping to deter unauthorized access to restricted areas and critical technology spaces.
• Respond to access control alarms, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, escalating concerns to appropriate site contacts and/or emergency responders.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, business areas, and the perimeter to identify and report security‑related concerns, policy violations, and facility conditions.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
