Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, contractors, visitors, and delivery personnel while following site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, grounds, perimeter areas, access points, and parking areas.
• Monitor access to the location by verifying credentials, directing visitors and vendors, maintaining visitor logs, and reporting access-control issues.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; document observations and actions in required reports.
• Maintain a professional presence and follow Allied Universal and site-specific reporting procedures.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Badge Verification Patrol in Reading, PA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $17.74 / Hour

• Access Control/Badge Experience (B201) Candidates should have prior experience with access control systems and badge management. This includes familiarity with issuing, tracking, and managing access badges for employees and visitors.

• Comfortable Using Computer or Tablet (B204) Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in using computers or tablets. This includes the ability to navigate software applications, manage emails, and utilize digital tools effectively.

• Customer Service Experience (B219) Candidates should possess a background in customer service. This includes experience in handling customer inquiries, resolving issues, and providing a positive customer experience.

Job Schedule:

• Fri 11:00 PM - 07:00 AM
• Sat 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM
• Sun 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.

• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to employees, contractors, visitors, and delivery personnel while carrying out site‑specific security‑related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at a utility services location.

• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, grounds, perimeter areas, access points, and parking areas to help identify unusual activity, hazards, and unauthorized access concerns.

• Monitor access to the location by verifying credentials, directing visitors and vendors, maintaining visitor logs, and reporting access‑control issues to appropriate personnel.

• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner; notify designated contacts and document observations, actions taken, and relevant details in required reports.

• Maintain a professional presence, communicate clearly with site personnel and emergency responders, and follow Allied Universal and site‑specific reporting procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• Access control and badge experience is preferred.

• Customer service experience is preferred.

• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.

• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.

• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
