Job summary

Allied Universal in Novi, MI is seeking a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Alarm Response Patrol. You will provide customer service to clients, visitors and employees, and perform site patrols while following security procedures.

The role offers fixed anchor shifts (Tue and Fri 12:00 PM – 07:00 PM) with the option to pick up additional shifts to increase earnings. Pay is $17.77 per hour, with benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Background check and drug screen are required by employment policies.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and employees while carrying out site-specific security procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner and communicate observations to appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of facilities, parking areas, access points, and perimeter areas.
• Monitor access to the location by observing visitor and employee entry, verifying credentials, and maintaining logs.
• Document patrols, incidents, and unusual conditions per site procedures and reporting requirements.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Alarm Response Patrol in Novi, MI, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $17.77 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Tue: 12:00 PM - 07:00 PM
• Fri: 12:00 PM - 07:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and employees while carrying out site‑specific security‑related procedures, policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner and communicate observations to appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of technology and telecommunications‑related facilities, parking areas, access points, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access to the location by observing visitor and employee entry, verifying credentials as directed, and maintaining required logs.
• Document patrols, incidents, and unusual conditions in accordance with site procedures and Allied Universal reporting requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• The ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control/badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
