Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced in Arlington, VA. This role provides flexible, dependable hours with fixed shifts and an option to pick up extra shifts to increase earnings.

You will serve employees, visitors, and contractors, perform security procedures, and respond to incidents at a corporate technology campus. Pay rate is $21.75 per hour with a schedule on Saturdays 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

Qualifications

• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age; 21+ for armed roles.
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check and drug screen required by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors at a corporate technology campus by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; document observations and notify appropriate personnel according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of offices, common areas, parking facilities, loading areas, and the property perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, assist with entry procedures, and report unusual conditions, maintenance concerns, and policy violations through established channels.
• Maintain a visible professional presence while communicating courteously with diverse employees, guests, and vendors in a fast-paced corporate environment.

Job Schedule

Job Schedule: Sat 07:00 AM - 03:00 PM

How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Minimum Requirements

• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
