As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Access Control Post in El Segundo, CA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $21.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

Fri 12:00 AM - 06:00 AM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It's all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, contractors, visitors, and/or drivers by carrying out site‑specific access‑control procedures, policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a chemical/petrochemical location.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials, authorizations, visitor registrations, and contractor documentation before allowing entry or exit in accordance with site procedures.
• Maintain accurate visitor, contractor, vehicle, and delivery records, issue and recover access credentials as directed, and communicate access concerns to appropriate site contacts.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, access‑control issues, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following established site procedures and reporting requirements.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access‑control areas, parking areas, gates, and the business perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security‑related concerns.

Minimum Requirements

• This is a primarily driving post.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
