Allied Universal, Harrisburg, PA, is seeking a Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced. This role offers fixed anchor shifts plus opportunities to pick up additional shifts to boost earnings, with a base pay of $18.50 per hour.

Qualifications

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Access Control in Harrisburg, PA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $18.50 / Hour

THIS POSITION IS AN AS NEEDED POSITION.

• It is not an every week position and only runs when they have meetings. A schedule will be provided upon hire for the entire year.

Job Schedule:

• Fri 05:00 PM - 10:00 PM
• Sat 08:00 AM - 03:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at an educational government location.
• Monitor and control access to buildings, offices, and restricted areas by verifying identification, credentials, and visitor authorization in accordance with site requirements.
• Maintain visitor logs, issue and recover access credentials as assigned, and report access discrepancies or unauthorized entry attempts to the appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established procedures and communicating with site contacts and emergency responders as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned entrances, access points, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
