Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced in Sterling Heights, MI to provide reliable access control, incident response, and customer service at an aerospace and defense site. You will work fixed shifts with the option to pick up additional shifts through our platform.

A DoD Secret Clearance is required, with background checks and drug screening as part of employment procedures. The role offers flexible hours and opportunities to progress toward full-time security roles

Responsibilities

• Respond to incidents calmly and communicate information to relevant personnel.
• Support patrol operations and report observations with timely follow-up actions

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time in Sterling Heights, MI, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $26.50 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Thur: 08:00 AM - 04:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ('Anchor Shifts'): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors at an aerospace and defense location by carrying out site‑specific procedures, access‑control requirements, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Monitor dispatch communications, receive and prioritize calls for service, and coordinate the deployment of security‑related personnel to incidents, alarms, and routine requests.
• Maintain accurate dispatch logs, incident records, radio communications, and shift activity documentation in accordance with site‑specific policies.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, communicating relevant information to appropriate personnel and emergency responders.
• Support regular and random patrol operations around the business and perimeter by tracking officer locations, reporting observations, and coordinating follow‑up responses.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess an active DoD Secret Clearance.
• The ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
