Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, employees, contractors, and visitors by carrying out access‑control procedures and site policies.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify authorization, issue visitor credentials, and maintain access‑related records.
• Control access for deliveries, vendors, and contractors according to site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner and notify appropriate contacts or responders.
• Conduct regular patrols of access points and perimeter to deter unauthorized activity.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Badge Verification in WEST POINT, VA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $16.00 / Hour

How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, employees, contractors, and visitors by carrying out access‑control procedures, site‑specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor entry and exit points at a manufacturing and industrial location, verify authorization, issue visitor credentials, and maintain accurate access‑related records.
• Control access for deliveries, vendors, and contractors in accordance with site procedures, including directing authorized personnel to designated areas.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner; notify appropriate site contacts and/or emergency responders as directed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, business areas, and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and report security‑related concerns.

Minimum Requirements

• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
