Job summary

Erickson Senior Living in Charlestown, MD, is seeking a Security and Emergency Services Officer II (EMR/EMT) to implement our security programs and provide outreach within the community.

The role involves regular patrols, enforcing traffic rules, responding to emergency calls, and delivering efficient medical care. Must have EMR/CPR certifications and a valid driver’s license; prior security/EMS experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
• Current CPR for Healthcare Providers certification.
• Current EMR certification (higher level acceptable; must obtain EMR within 30 days).
• Prior experience in Security and/or Emergency Medical Services preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform regular patrols of the property and provide relief staffing for the gatehouse.
• Enforce all traffic and parking regulations.
• Respond to calls for service from dispatch and security.
• Respond to medical emergencies and provide efficient care using basic interventions.
• Follow up on reports of missing items, theft, vandalism, or other potential criminal activity.
• Coordinate with police, fire, and EMS during emergencies.
• Complete thorough incident reports using the online system.

Join our team as a Security and Emergency Services Officer II (EMR/EMT) at our gated retirement community. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing our Security and Emergency Services programs and providing outreach within the community.

How you will make an impact

• Utilize local police, fire, and EMS; effectively during emergencies.
• Complete thorough and detailed incident reports using our online report system
• Compensation: commensurate with experience, range $19.00- $21.00.

What you will need

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
• Prior experience in Security and/or Emergency Medical Services is preferred
• Proactive, vigilant and detail-oriented approaches with a strong commitment to quality, efficiency and effectiveness
• Current CPR for Healthcare Providers certification
• Current Emergency Medical Responder certification. (Higher level certification/licensure is acceptable as a condition of hire, however, new hires will be required to obtain EMR certification within 30 days).
