Job Details

Provides maximum protection for university and hospital personnel, patients, students, visitors, and Jefferson assets. Performs security duties at fixed posts, on patrol, or during rounds. Responds to calls for service, checks for unauthorized persons, security violations, and hazards. Capable of working in any environment, shift, or post. Assists visitors and patients by providing directions or information.

• Interacts professionally with co-workers, visitors, and staff.
• Performs patrols, verifies identities, and escorts unauthorized persons off campus.
• Responds promptly to emergencies, reports conditions, and may diffuse conflicts.
• Investigates incidents, maintains logs, and provides follow-up as directed.
• Assists employees, patients, and visitors during incidents, including security escorts.
• Patrols parking areas and supports campus safety, including fire and helicopter landing assistance.
• Supports loss prevention and assists with training new staff.

Job Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred experience in security, law enforcement, or military.
• PA ACT 235 Certification required within 90 days (if applicable).
• Valid driver’s license for certain locations.
• Understanding of security technology and Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to work all shifts, including rotating shifts.
• Professional appearance and proper security equipment.
