Allied Universal in Brooklyn, NY is seeking a Security Officer Educational Facility Access Control to safeguard students, staff and visitors while enforcing school procedures and maintaining a welcoming environment.

As an unarmed officer, you will monitor access points, patrol facilities, respond calmly to incidents, and document observations for Allied Universal leadership. This full-time role offers a steady schedule and opportunities for training and growth.

Qualifications

• Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• At least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet.
• Have customer service experience, preferred.
• Have access control and/or badge experience, preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories as allowed by law.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and families by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity according to school procedures to maintain an orderly learning environment.
• Respond to incidents, student-related concerns, and critical situations calmly and follow site protocols for escalation.
• Conduct regular unarmed patrols of school buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations.
• Document observations and incidents accurately and communicate information to school personnel and Allied Universal leadership.

• Wed 07:00 AM - 03:00 PM
• Thur 07:00 AM - 03:00 PM
• Fri 07:00 AM - 03:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and families by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with school procedures, helping to maintain an orderly learning environment.
• Respond to incidents, student-related concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, escalating matters according to site protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of school buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help identify and report unusual activity or conditions.
• Document observations, incidents, and daily activities accurately and communicate relevant information to school personnel and Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
• Have customer service experience, preferred.
• Have access control and/or badge experience, preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
