Security Officer – Downers Grove, IL – 3rd Shift

Full‑time position with Apex3/Premier Security.

Security Officer responsibilities include:

• Interacting with visitors, tenants, vendors and client employees in a friendly and professional manner.
• Providing outstanding customer service to all tenants, visitors and client representatives while adhering to company and building policies.
• Ensuring tenants, visitors, messengers and vendors follow access control procedures according to building policy.
• Writing clear, concise, thorough reports, including daily activity and incident logs.
• Using access control computer systems.
• Performing assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
• Standing, sitting or walking for extended periods of time.
• Working in elevators and responding to high‑rise floors.
• Working exterior posts in inclement weather.
• Responding to emergency calls or situations involving visitors, tenants, vendors and client representatives and following department procedures to properly handle the situation.
• Receiving cross training on all contracted posts to assist department and client leadership during an emergency incident.

Qualifications:

• At least 20 years of age.
• High school graduate (GED accepted) with original diploma and/or official transcripts.
• 20‑hour Basic Security Training Certification.
• Pass a stringent pre‑employment background investigation, including drug screen, demonstrating a stable work history and/or education.
• Disclose all criminal convictions and pending charges.
• Valid driver's license in good standing (subject to periodic audits) if working at a location that requires driving, including operating a golf cart.
• Excellent appearance and attitude.
• Customer service‑oriented, organized, responsible and professional.
• Willing to "go the extra mile" in welcoming and assisting building tenants, visitors and client representatives.
• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Motivated self‑starter with willingness and ability to function with limited supervision.
• Ability to multi‑task in a service oriented environment.
• Flexible with scheduling and able to hold over to the next shift or work extra hours as needed.
• Capable of evaluating, investigating and reporting all types of security incidents.

• Wear professional uniform and maintain company grooming and appearance standards.
• Provide a valid PERC (blue card) only if you have received one in the past.
• Previous high‑rise building security or customer service experience is preferred.
