In this role, you will protect assets, staff, patients, and visitors at the Center for Health Sciences. Responsibilities include regular patrols, documenting activities and incidents, enforcing policies and laws, and ensuring the building's security after hours.

Salary range: $22.47 - $29.09 / Hour

Qualifications

• Possess and maintain current certifications: Guard Card, D.O.J. Chemical Agent, CPR, Driver's License, and BLS Certification (American Heart Association or Red Cross).


• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.


• Willingness to complete required training (training provided).


• Ability to establish cooperative relationships with colleagues, management, law enforcement, and the community.


• Capability to resolve issues independently within policies and procedures.


• Resourcefulness in problem-solving using available resources.


• Proficiency in operating security and office equipment.


• Diplomatic interaction with the public and maintaining a professional appearance.

Must hold a valid driver's license and meet driving record standards, with enrollment in the California Employer Pull Notice Program preferred.

Note on legislation: Senate Bill 525, signed in October 2023, sets a new minimum wage of $23/hour for healthcare workers starting June 1, 2024. Healthcare workers are defined as those involved in patient care-related services supporting healthcare delivery in UCLA Health facilities.
