Join our team as a Security Officer and be the protector of the zoo! Ensure the safety of our employees, guests, and animals around the clock. Be ready to assist in medical emergencies and keep our zoo secure and peaceful.

  • Minimum Education: High School diploma or G.E.D. OR equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Certification: Valid Oklahoma driver’s license within 30 days of hire and pass driver’s history check

Job Summary

The Security Officer ensures the Zoo's security 24/7 and the safety of employees, guests, and animals. May provide medical assistance as needed.

Essential Duties
  • Inspect safety conditions and report issues
  • Check building temperatures and perimeter security
  • Escort vehicles and respond to medical emergencies
  • Provide first aid and call emergency services
  • Patrol grounds, interact with guests, and provide crowd control
  • Handle lost articles and respond to emergencies
  • Maintain logs and records
  • Train in firearm use and monitor zoo events
