Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer (Part Time Unarmed Patrol) in Reading, PA to safeguard client sites across utilities and other industries. You will maintain a visible security presence, perform access control, and complete accurate incident and patrol reports while delivering excellent customer service.

Flexible DayTime schedule includes Saturday 07:00-15:00 and Sunday 07:00-15:00; compensation starts at $17.74 per hour.

Qualifications

• Comfortable using a computer or tablet.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Access control/badge experience preferred.
• Must be at least 18 (unarmed) / 21+ (armed).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check and drug screen may be required.

As a Security Officer Part Time Unarmed Patrol in Reading, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a utilities location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support access control activities. You will provide exceptional customer service and clear communication while using computer or tablet systems as needed. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a utilities location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, grounds, access points, perimeter areas, and utility-related equipment locations to help identify unusual activity or conditions.
• Monitor access to the location, verify credentials as required, and report unauthorized entry attempts, hazards, or suspicious activity to appropriate personnel.
• Prepare accurate daily activity reports, incident documentation, and patrol logs in accordance with site-specific requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control/badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
