Job summary

Adventist HealthCare in Gaithersburg, MD seeks an experienced Security Officer to join Security Services and help extend care by maintaining safety for patients, staff, visitors and volunteers.

The role includes patrols, restraining where necessary, and coordinating with staff; requires BLS, US driver's license, hospital security experience; standard 40-hour days, day shift, salary $19.21–$24.90 per hour.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Previous security experience preferred in hospital setting.
• Must possess a US Driver’s License.
• American Heart Association BLS certification required.
• Ability to respond to physically demanding emergency calls.

Adventist HealthCare seeks to hire an experienced Security Officer for our Security Services department who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing.

As a Security Officer you will:

• Ensure a safe environment for our patients, staff, visitors, physicians and volunteers
• Ensure quality outcomes for security department by communicating effectively with security, staff and the public
• Conducts foot patrols of the facility and parking areas.
• Conducts vehicular patrols of the parking areas and off site locations
• Assists with restraining violent patients
• Use time and resources in a financially responsible manner
• Foster group cohesiveness within the security department
• Portrays a positive image of the organization.

Qualifications include:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Previous security experience, preferably in a hospital setting Preferred
• Must possess a US Driver’s License
• Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Must be able to respond to physically demanding emergency calls

Work Schedule:

Employment Type: Full-time
Hours per Week: 40 hours/week
Typical Daily Schedule: 8 am-5 pm Monday through Friday

Pay Range:

$19.21 - $24.90
