Job summary

Allied Universal in Oneonta, NY is seeking a part-time Security Officer Customer Service Patrol to protect people and property at a manufacturing and industrial site. You’ll provide friendly, professional service, maintain a visible security presence, and use tablet tools to communicate and document activities.

As an Unarmed Patrol Officer, you’ll conduct patrols, verify access, respond to incidents, and support safe operations for employees and visitors.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check required by federal, state and local laws.
• Drug screen required where law allows.
• Licensing requirements may be required; valid driver's license for driving positions only.

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors at a manufacturing and industrial location by following site-specific policies.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of manufacturing areas, spaces, parking areas, and facility perimeter to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials; direct authorized personnel and deliveries per procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and emergencies; document observations and report concerns.
• Support adherence to facility access, traffic and emergency protocols with professional communication.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors at a manufacturing and industrial location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of manufacturing areas, administrative spaces, parking areas, and the facility perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as required, and direct authorized personnel and deliveries according to site-specific procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; document observations and promptly report concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Support adherence to facility access, traffic, and emergency protocols while maintaining professional communication with employees, contractors, and visitors.

Minimum Requirements:

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
