The Security Officer is often the first and last hospital staff to interact with the public. Under the supervision of the Lead Officer, they patrol assigned areas, observe for unauthorized entry, and respond to safety concerns. The Security Officer responds to instructions from authorities and demonstrates excellent public relations and social skills.
Preferred: Six to twelve months related experience. High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree preferred. Military Police or professional Police training, or certification is desirable. Basic knowledge of hospital security functions is desirable. Must familiarize with hospital policies, procedures, and fire safety equipment. Demonstrates leadership, professionalism, and good communication skills. Must be personable, polite, helpful, and able to handle stressful situations, including communicating with upset or confused individuals. CPR certification required within 6 months of hire, as well as CPI training.
