Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part Time Enhanced Security Officer in Patchogue, NY. This role offers fixed evening shifts with the option to pick up additional shifts through our scheduling platform, helping you earn more while maintaining a flexible schedule.

You will perform badge verification and access control, ensuring safety and order across the site. The role requires reliable, professional conduct and excellent customer service across campus environments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Alarm panel experience preferred.
• Access control and badge experience preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background check and drug screen required.
• Licensing requirements may be required by state/local laws.
• Valid driver's license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors while carrying out site-specific access control procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
• Monitor entrances and exits, verify authorization for access, and help maintain visitor sign-in and credential procedures.
• Respond to access-related incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly and in accordance with established protocols.
• Communicate clearly with campus personnel, visitors, and emergency responders regarding access concerns, suspicious activity, and policy violations.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned buildings, entry points, parking areas, and perimeter locations.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Badge Verification in Patchogue, NY, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $17.90 - 18.90 / Hour

DayTime Sat 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM

Sun 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM

How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It's all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned buildings, entry points, parking areas, and perimeter locations; working environments and conditions may vary by location.

Minimum Requirements

• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
