Job summary

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Officer in Minneapolis, MN to monitor and safeguard campus facilities. You will provide customer service, deter security incidents, perform access control, and assist students, staff, and visitors with professionalism. This is a full-time position with a daytime schedule.

You will respond to incidents calmly, conduct patrols, observe activity, and generate incident reports in accordance with site procedures. A background check and drug screen may apply.

Qualifications

• At least one year of security-related experience is required.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicant may be subject to a background investigation.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applicants with criminal histories.
• A drug screen may be required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required depending on state/local laws.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

As a Security Officer in Minneapolis, MN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer in an educational setting, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, support access control, and assist students, staff, and visitors with professionalism. You will use clear communication and customer service while contributing to a welcoming environment. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and notification protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and observe campus activity for unusual conditions, escalating concerns to appropriate personnel as directed.
• Prepare accurate reports of incidents, observations, and security-related activities in accordance with site procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least one year of security-related experience is required.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
