Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer to protect patients, visitors, and staff in a healthcare setting in Westwood, NJ. You will provide exceptional customer service, monitor facilities, and respond to security-related concerns with professionalism.

The role requires unarmed guarding, regular patrols, and reporting incidents to site leadership. Flu and Covid vaccines are required, with CPR preferred and background checks conducted as part of employment.

As an unarmed Security Officer in a healthcare setting, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support a welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff. Position Type: Full Time

Pay Rate: $21.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Mon: 07:00 AM - 06:00 PM
• Wed: 07:00 AM - 06:00 PM
• Fri: 07:00 AM - 06:00 PM
• Sat: 09:00 AM - 01:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, communicating with appropriate hospital personnel and/or first responders.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout healthcare facilities, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site-specific procedures, assisting with directions and maintaining a professional presence.
• Prepare accurate reports and promptly communicate incidents, hazards, and/or unusual activity to site leadership in accordance with established procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
• At least 2 years of service in a healthcare or medical-related field is required.
• Must be fully Vaccinated with Flu vaccine and Covid Vaccine.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• A Guard Card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
