Job Summary
Under limited supervision, the Security Officer provides security and protection of work site(s), personnel, and assets at the Chugach Electric southcentral power generation facility near Minnesota Parkway and International Airport Road in Anchorage. Enforces site-specific security and safety measures, performs regular patrols, and responds to incidents following established procedures. The position follows a 2x2 week rotation schedule, with an estimated starting annual salary of $55,150.

Required Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old
• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum 3 years of experience in law enforcement, military police, corrections, or private security
• Ability to read, write, and speak English
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and communication means
• Alaska State Unarmed Security Officer License or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe
• First Aid/CPR/AED certifications or ability to obtain within 120 days
• Ability to complete required training including OC Pepper Spray, Arrests and Handcuffing, Defensive Driving, etc.
• Pass criminal background check, drug test, and physical/fitness evaluation

• Respond to alarms, emergencies, and security breaches
• Process visitors and monitor traffic
• Operate CCTV equipment and conduct patrols
• Assist in emergencies and investigations
• Ensure safety around high voltage and hazardous materials
• Complete reports and maintain confidentiality
• Operate vehicles safely and maintain professionalism
• Work varying schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
