Job summary

Allied Universal in Salinas, CA is seeking a part-time Security Officer (Checkpoint Operations) to protect clients across industries at a food and beverage distribution site. You will conduct access control, monitor entry points, and respond to incidents.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience preferred.
• Guard card or license preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies.
• Monitor and control access points by verifying credentials, recording visitor information, issuing badges or passes, and directing authorized individuals.
• Assist with managing vehicle and delivery access, including confirming scheduled arrivals and maintaining entry logs.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner following established procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points and perimeter to deter unauthorized access.
