Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license in the state where the job is located.
• At least 1 year of law enforcement experience, 2 years security supervisor/manager experience, or 3 years security-related experience.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check and drug screen required by law.

Responsibilities

• Control entry/exit of personnel, vehicles, and deliveries; maintain access records and report irregularities.

Job Description

As a Security Officer Checkpoint Driver in Sulphur, LA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an Access Control professional at a chemical and petrochemical location, you will help manage site entry, verify credentials, monitor access points, and support a secure environment for employees, visitors, and operations. This driving position combines customer service, clear communication, and technology use to help deter incidents and address security-related concerns. Pay Rate: $15.50 / Hour

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials, visitor registrations, and contractor authorizations in accordance with site requirements.
• Control entry and exit of personnel, vehicles, and deliveries, maintaining accurate access-related records and reporting irregularities.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established escalation and notification procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access areas, business locations, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
• Possess at least one year of law enforcement experience, two years of security-related supervisor or manager experience, or three years of security-related experience.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
• At this site there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
