Job summary

Fairmont Kea Lani in Maui, Hawaii seeks a Security Officer to ensure the safety and wellbeing of guests and colleagues. The role involves security, emergency response, and enforcing safety procedures across a luxury all-suite resort on Polo Beach.

Position offers a comprehensive benefits package, hourly rate of $29.93, and opportunities for training and career development within the Fairmont network. Schedule varies with hotel demands, including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent or vocational training.
• Security, law enforcement, and/or loss prevention experience is an asset.
• State of Hawaii Guard Card; Valid Driver’s License; Clean Driver’s Abstract; CPR/First Aid Certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide security, emergency, and first aid assistance.
• Implement policies and programs related to Security Services.
• Guide and support leaders and colleagues with safety & security procedures.
• Educate all new Fairmont colleagues on safety & security.
• Assist in the training of all new security officers.
• Create and maintain documentation on incidents reported by guests or colleagues.
• Ensure adherence to Lost & Found procedures with proper documentation and logs.
• Investigate and follow up on reports by guests or colleagues.
• Review the business continuity plan with the security manager and ensure updates are communicated.
• Conduct lock interrogations and assist Engineering with lock repairs.
• Conduct foot and vehicle patrols.

As a Security Officer, your attentiveness, efficiency and commitment will ensure your hotel remains a safe, enjoyable workplace and travel destination.

Hourly Rate: $29.93

What you will be doing:

• Provide security, emergency, and first aid assistance
• Implement, as directed by the Security Manager, all policies and programs related to Security Services
• Guide and support all leaders and colleagues with respect to safety & security procedures
• Educate all new Fairmont colleagues on safety & security
• Assist in the training of all new security officers
• Create and maintain proper documentation on any incidents reported by guests or colleagues
• Ensure adherence to Lost & Found procedures including accepting items with proper documentation, assisting colleagues & guests with inquiries, maintaining accurate logs and following retention guidelines.
• Investigate and follow up on any reports made by guests or colleagues
• Review the business continuity plan with the security manager and ensure that all updates are communicated to colleagues, and that all necessary training is provided
• Conduct lock interrogations and assist Engineering Department with lock repairs
• Conduct foot and vehicle patrols

Schedule: Due to the nature of the hospitality industry, employees are required to work varying schedules, including weekends and holidays, to accommodate the business and demands of the hotel.
