Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus guests while following security procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, residence areas, walkways, parking locations, and perimeter areas.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly and professionally.
• Document observations, incidents, and daily activities accurately and report to appropriate personnel.
• Assist with access control, visitor direction, and other campus security needs with a professional presence.

As a Security Officer Campus Patrol Operations in Saint Louis, MO, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $17.50 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Sat 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and/or campus guests while carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, residence areas, walkways, parking locations, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual conditions.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, following established campus protocols.
• Document observations, incidents, and daily activities accurately, and communicate relevant information to appropriate personnel.
• Assist with access control, visitor direction, and other campus security‑related needs while maintaining a professional presence.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• A state, county, or city‑issued security-related license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
