Job description

We Are Hiring
  • Department: Behavioral Health / Security
  • Schedule: Full Time, 36 hours weekly, 3 12 hour shifts 7am – 7pm or 7pm – 7am, including weekends
  • Hospital: Ascension Via Christi St Joseph
  • Location: Wichita, KS
What You Will Do

Provide security services to ensure a safe environment for staff and visitors.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform proactive monitoring of and timely responses to potential/actual security threats.
  • Investigate, document and manage security incidents and hazards.
  • Maintain knowledge/follow policies and procedures regarding alarms and emergency/disaster preparedness plans. May facilitate planned drills and simulations.
  • Trains and mentor staff on environment of care and emergency management processes and procedures. Provide information and assistance to staff and visitors to promote safety.
  • Provide for traffic and parking enforcement within campus area and participate in patrols.
  • Reports potential problems or equipment malfunction to appropriate personnel.
  • For those security officers who are responsible for operating a vehicle, operate in a safe and responsible manner to avoid accidents and traffic or parking violations.
What You Will Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Drivers License preferred.
  • Law Enforcement preferred.
  • Management of Aggressive Behavior credentialed from the Management of Aggressive Behavior Training International, Inc preferred.
  • Security Professional preferred.
  • Security Guard preferred.

Education:

  • High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
    • Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
Additional Preferences
  • Behavioral Health, Security, or customer service experience preferred.
  • Conflict resolution experience is a plus.
