Job summary

Baptist Health Downtown is seeking a Security Officer for the Protective Services Department, a full-time day shift from 6:00 AM to 6:15 PM with rotating weekdays and weekends in Jacksonville, FL.

The role protects patients, visitors, and staff by patrolling the medical center, monitoring facilities, and implementing new safety technologies. You will respond to incidents, escort individuals, and enforce parking rules to maintain a secure environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Driver’s license is required.
• IAHSS certifications preferred or related security credentials.
• Background screening including level II fingerprint check will be performed.

Responsibilities

• Report unusual circumstances and take corrective actions.
• Monitor for safety hazards and protect individuals from harm.
• Provide escort services to patients, visitors, and staff.
• Respond to unsafe situations and incidents promptly.
• Enforce hospital parking regulations.
• Assist with vehicle problems when needed.

We are looking to add a Security Officer to our Protective Services Department at Baptist Medical Center Downtown. This is a full-time, day shift opportunity, with the hours of 6:00 AM - 6:15 PM. Rotating weekdays and weekends are a requirement.

The Security Officer’s primary function is to assure the day-to-day safety and security of patients, visitors, and employees by patrolling and monitoring the medical center properties. As patient safety and experience are top priority this growing team is currently implementing new technologies such as metal detectors.

As a Security Officer you will be responsible for:

• Reporting any unusual circumstances, and take appropriate corrective actions

• Insuring the protection of individuals from harm by monitoring for safety hazards

• Providing escort services

• Respond to unsafe situations

• Enforce hospital parking regulations

• Assist individuals with obtaining help for vehicle problems

Security Officer Experience:

• 1-2 years Law Enforcement Experience

• 1-2 years Law Enforcement Experience Preferred

• 1-2 years Security Officer Experience Preferred

• 1-2 years Military Experience Preferred

• 1-2 years Security Officer Experience

• 1-2 years Military Experience

Education &CredentialRequirements:

This Security Officer will be located at Baptist Downtown.
