Department Detail –

Job Summary – The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association Security Department provides a safe environment for employees and visitors, protecting property from theft and damage. The department aims to prevent and mitigate disasters, emergencies, and maintain a physical presence onsite.

This position involves security duties at BGEA-Charlotte facilities. As an Associate, this position is limited to 1000 hours of work per year.

Ministry Requirements

• Maintain a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and be a consistent witness.
• Uphold BGEA in prayer.
• Participate in daily staff devotions, Bible reading, and prayer as scheduled.
• Behave in accordance with BGEA’s Mission Statement, Statement of Faith, policies, and expectations.
• Represent Jesus Christ effectively within personal and professional spheres.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Screen pedestrian and vehicular traffic for authorized entry.
• Assist with medical emergencies.
• Operate security systems such as access control, alarms, CCTV, and BGEA vehicles.
• Handle disruptive individuals courteously and professionally.
• Report and investigate damage to property.
• Document emergency calls and coordinate information.
• Follow call-in procedures during emergencies.
• Consult with management on incidents.
• Familiarize with all safety and security policies.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

Marginal Duties and Responsibilities

• Refer media requests to Media Relations.
• Assist guests with information.
• Report maintenance or safety hazards.
• Perform additional duties as directed, including cleaning or training.
• Assist other departments as needed.
• Maintain a neat appearance per policies.

Job Specifications

• Minimum Associate’s degree or 5 years related experience.

• Complete security and safety training, including CPR/AED and armed guard training, within 6 months.

Benefits Summary

Part-time or seasonal employees working up to 19 hours per week (not exceeding 1000 hours annually) are not eligible for benefits.
